Heart Failure Heart Failure is a condition in which the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. The most common causes of heart failure include high blood pressure and blockage of the heart arties. Symptoms of heart failure include shortness of breath, fatigue, weakness, and swelling in your legs, ankles, feet, and abdomen.

Cardiac Catheterization Lab Cardiac catheterization is a test used to diagnose abnormalities of the coronary blood vessels. Our cardiac catheterization laboratories are fully equipped to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic and interventional services. Standard diagnostic procedures for both adult and child patients are routinely performed.

Cardiovascular Program for Women Led by Dr. Joan Briller, the Cardiovascular Program for Women has a team devoted to identifying early predictors of heart disease because they understand the importance of early intervention. The program, established in 2001, is the most comprehensive of its kind in the city. It provides state-of-the-art cardiac screening, prevention and therapy services, as well as specialized care for pregnant women with heart disease.

Echocardiography Lab Echocardiography is a diagnostic test that uses ultrasound waves to produce an image of the heart muscle and valves. All clinical and research imaging is performed in our laboratory using the most technologically advanced equipment available.

64 Slice Computed Tomographic Cardiac Imaging Coronary calcium screening is used to detect early, subclinical cardiovascular disease. We also provide 3D non-invasive imaging of the coronary vessels.

Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Our Electrophysiology Lab is fully equipped to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic treatments for patients with symptomatic cardiac arrhythmias. Services available allow invasive and non-invasive electrophysiologic evaluation of all dysrhythmias. Therapeutic procedures routinely performed include EP guided pharmacotherapy, radiofrequency ablation of ventricular and supraventricular arrhythmias and device implantation (including AICDs and dual chamber pacemakers).
