NorthShore University HealthSystem's Division of Cardiology offers a Cardiology Fellowship training program, sponsored by the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. This Cardiology Fellowship program offers a unique opportunity for a general cardiovascular experience and community-based education. Fellows will receive high quality training in Cardiovascular Medicine including the performance of general cardiovascular procedures.

The fellows will work in a high-volume Division of Cardiologycardiovascular division with educational opportunities at all four NorthShore hospitals (Evanston, Glenbrook, Highland Park and Skokie). During the three year fellowship program, directed by Jorge Saucedo, MD, Clinical Professor of Medicine, University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, the fellows will have the opportunity to work with busy clinicians and clinical researchers. General in-patient and out-patient consultation experience and imaging rotations (echocardiography, catheterization laboratory, nuclear medicine, cardiac MRI/CTA, vascular medicine), electrophysiology/holter, stress testing and dedicated research time will be the core components of this program.

The fellow will be required to participate in a variety of conferences within the Division of Cardiology. Fellows will have an active role in the CV board review course and all other key conferences.

Pre-requisite/Training/Selection Criteria

Completion of an ACGME accredited residency program in Internal Medicine is required. Candidates with additional post-graduate training will also be considered. Candidates must have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in clinical endeavors, education and research during GME training by providing evidence of active participation in educational or research programs.
