The 7-Eleven in Abingdon was robbed and someone tried to rob Darlington Pharmacy Saturday, though sheriff's deputies don't believe the incidents are related.

The first happened at about 5:25 a.m. at the 7-Eleven on the corner of Route 7 and Abingdon Road in Abingdon. The robber approached the cashier with a knife and demanded money and cigarettes, according to a press release from the Harford County Sheriff's Office. After receiving both, he ran off toward Route 7.

The robber is described as a white man, 25 to 30 years old, about 6 feet tall and 175 to 180 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, thick prescription style black glasses and was covering his face with a piece of navy blue sweatshirt material, according to the release. No injuries were reported.

A man with a knife tried to rob Darlington Pharmacy later Saturday.

Shortly after 3 p.m., a white man wearing a black ski mask entered the Darlington Pharmacy, 1115 Main St. in Darlington, displayed a knife and demanded prescription narcotics, according to the sheriff's office release.

After the pharmacist stated twice that they did not have any, the man left the building. He is described as a white man, 5 feet, 10 inches tall; he was wearing blue jeans and a dark jacket covering multiple sweatshirts.

Sheriffs deputies believe the robber may have been working with an accomplice who was seen outside the pharmacy during the robbery. He is described as a white man, approximately 20 years old, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a slim build, short beard and long hair; he was wearing long pants and a black hooded sweatshirt. Both were last seen headed toward the Main Street Post Office. No injuries were reported.

Deputies have no reason to believe the robberies are related to each other, Cristie Kahler, public information specialist for the sheriff's office, said Saturday evening.
