As medical science and experts try to find the root causes behind high incidences of hypertension, it is important to understand that the diet we consume, and the lifestyle we follow has a direct link with the heart, and can lead to high blood pressure.

If you suffer from high blood pressure or are at high risk, you must manage your diet accordingly. Here are a few foods that should be off the table, literally, if you want to keep hypertension at bay.

Everyone who has a heart problem knows that salty food can increase their problem of hypertension. You must consume salt in moderation. You should steer clear of food that contains excess salt like salty chips, snacks, etc.

Processed foods are bad for health anyway, and their regular intake is not recommended irrespective of hypertension.
