BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) The University at Buffalo Women's Basketball team named a sixth starter Wednesday night during "Inclusion Day" at the start of the game as they played Miami Ohio. Drew Strang, from Williamsville, was honored right before tip-off at Alumni Arena.

The 12-year-old and his dad, Scott, have been a "big fan and support" of the team for years. Drew has cerebral palsy and isn't able to run long distances.

In addition to becoming an honorary starter, Drew also played with his wheelchair basketball team -- "The Buffalo Rims" -- at halftime.

"Drew and I come to every game. We've been to Cleveland a couple times for the MAC Tournament the past several years, when the ladies were in Albany for the NCAA Tournament we went there for the NCAA Tournament, so we rarely miss a game. We're here all the time cheering on the team," Scott said.

We caught up with Drew and Scott in October as they trained for the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. It was during that training, they ran alongside members from the UB Women's Basketball team ahead of the race.

This spring, the two will run in the Buffalo Marathon representing the Buffalo chapter of Ainsley's Angels.
