Its so far so good for the SVHS soccer teams as they began their respective 2012 seasons Saturday afternoon.

Lady Braves: 8 Rawlins: 0 / Lady Braves: 0 Lander: 0 / Lady Braves: 1 Newcastle: 0

The Lady Braves showed no mercy to the Lady Outlaws as they rolled up a program-record eight goals to move to 1-0 on the season. Sophomore Jessica Woodford netted a hat trick with a trio of goals while senior Ashley Hall scored a pair of her own. Abby Nicoll, K.C. Schooner and Kennady Brog all scored a goal as well. The ladies then followed that up with another shutout behind Jess England in goal in a 0-0 tie with Lander to move to 1-0-1 on the afternoon. Finally, Nicoll scored the only goal in yet another shutout as they defeated Newcastle 1-0. Now sitting at 2-0-1 after the opening weekend, the Lady Braves will be hoping to remain unbeaten as they host Pinedale in the seasons first home match on Tuesday beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Braves: 3 Douglas: 1 / Braves: 0 Rock Springs: 0 / Braves: 3 Rawlins: 0

Senior Cody Call scored twice to pace the Braves to their first win of the season as Salvador Gutierrez scored as well in a 3-1 victory over Douglas in Worland. The Braves settled for a scoreless 0-0 tie with Rock Springs in their second game comprised of two 25-minute halves. Travis Kinslow had the shutout in goal. Finally, Call added two more goals to raise his weekend total to four overall as Star Valley shut out Rawlins 3-0. Hericledis Nato scored the other goal as the Braves also moved to 2-0-1. The varsity boys host their Pinedale counterparts on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
