SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire -03/27/12)- Renowned drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, Bayside Marin, has announced the grand opening of a new intensive outpatient treatment program (IOP), in the heart of San Francisco, to address the city's growing addiction treatment needs. A special event for clinical professionals, staff and the media will be held Friday, March 30 from 11-12 noon.

The new facility, Bayside SF, will be located in San Francisco's financial district, near public transportation and ample parking. The program will be tailored to meet the treatment needs of the working professional through groups, individual therapy and adjunct services available after 5:00pm. "We are very pleased to bring this new level of service to San Francisco," said Joseph Tinervin, Executive Director of Bayside Marin. "We believe there is a great need for outpatient drug treatment services for working professionals, and Bayside SF will also accept many types of insurances, making it the first of its kind and really opening us up to helping the scores of people in this area who are struggling with addiction."

The new evidence-based outpatient treatment program is based on the sophisticated addiction and dual diagnosis treatment offered by Bayside Marin, a program that has recently been featured on "Dr. Drew's Lifechangers" and cable's "Addicted" television shows.

In addition to schedules designed to allow participants to continue working, the Bayside SF program will blend the best in medical, psychological and community-based modalities to create a comprehensive and integrative program. For example, individuals in treatment will learn how to reduce activation of the pleasure pathways in the brain, be aware of triggers, and implement a variety of strategies to increase resilience and improve impulse control.

The program sets a balanced lifestyle as the primary goal for all clients, based on the belief that any area of imbalance -- be it financial, work, relationships, or diet -- can create an environment that breeds risk of relapse on substances. This concept, "whole-person recovery," can be the key to long-term success, say experts.

"Bayside SF is an illustration of our commitment to establishing the highest quality continuum of care for those struggling with the disease of addiction," said Phil Herschman, Chief Clinical Officer for CRC Health Group, the parent company of Bayside SF. "CRC's national continuum of care is unmatched -- from residential programs to day treatment to IOPs -- and we believe that everyone should have access to quality treatment. To that end, this new program based on Bayside Marin's exemplary services will serve a great need in downtown San Francisco."

Bayside SF will offer learning and group process opportunities to clients, as well as the option of utilizing evidence-based medication assistance designed to reduce drug cravings. The facility will have physicians onsite to address recovery concerns including abstinence, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders. In fact, the Bayside SF treatment team will include a physician board-certified in addiction and internal medicine, a psychiatrist specializing in dual diagnosis, licensed marriage and family therapists (MFTs), licensed acupuncturists, licensed massage therapists, family systems specialists, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) specialists, and alumni support.

"Our holistic, client-centered approach is designed to help clients commit to a realistic, long-term recovery plan," said Tinervin. "We're offering opportunities for acupuncture, yoga, and other holistic therapies, and we will also be able to engage our clients' current treatment providers and work with them to create a long-term, supportive recovery plan for maximum success."

Ideally, families and loved ones will also be engaged in treatment, says Tinervin. Bayside SF will offer regular access to AA and NA meetings, but will also introduce clients to 12-Step alternatives such as LifeRing and SMART Recovery since "12 Step programs are highly effective for some, but not all people in recovery," says Tinervin.

"At Bayside Marin and the new Bayside SF, we are committed to helping clients heal in all areas of their lives, including their physical health, mental health, employment, relationships, finances, housing and social support systems," says Tinervin. "We are pleased to offer a safe, nurturing environment for clients to explore the issues underlying their addictions."
