60,000 cash was seized in Croydon raid

Drugs, cash and several thousand pounds worth of potentially stolen trainers have been seized in a Croydon raid.

An address in Peebles Court, Whitestone Way, Broad Green was raided on Friday 16 November as part of Operation Hawk.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs, handling stolen goods and money laundering offences.

Officers from Broad Green, Selhurst and Bensham Manor safer neighbourhood teams carried out the raid on Friday morning.

They found several bags and containers with what is believed to be herbal cannabis inside, as well as other drugs paraphernalia.

Officers found approximately 100 pairs of new trainers - several still in boxes - believed to have been stolen and also seized 60,000 in cash, which was also found at the address.

Sergeant Steve Ribano from the Broad Green SNT said: This raid shows what Operation Hawk is all about - police acting upon information from the public and getting drugs off the streets.
