IN THE WORKS

A King's Pharmacy opening soon in Lumberton will bring the independent pharmacy's total number of stores to four.

Larry Plunk, who owns King's in Port Arthur, said the addition was to meet the demand for an independent pharmacy in the growing Lumberton area.

The new location, which will be on LHS Drive in the same shopping center as Five Point Credit Union, is expected to open sometime in March or April.

The branch, which will measure 4,500 square feet, will be slightly smaller than the Beaumont location on Major Drive, but will feature a drive-thru window, gift items, beauty aids, immunization and compounding labs.

The pharmacy is the newest addition to the Cedarbrook Heights shopping center, which recently acquired a Magical Yogurt and will soon see an Anytime Fitness and a Brick Oven.
