ShopRite has signed a lease for 90,000 square feet at Gateway Center Phase II, a suburban-style mixed-use retail project at 501 Gateway Dr. in Brooklyn, NY.

Set to open at the project's completion in fall of 2014, the ShopRite at Gateway Center will be the grocer's largest supermarket in the Tri-State region, bringing approximately 300 full- and part-time jobs to the community.

The store will be operated by an affiliate of Glass Gardens, and will offer a broad array of groceries, fresh produce, baked goods, meat and seafood delivered daily, a floral department, pharmacy, and a large selection of ethnic foods for the local community. The newly designed store will also offer Japanese and Chinese specialties for dine-in or take-out, as well as a sushi bar and full-service catering team.

The center is accessible from the Belt Parkway off exit 15 (Erskine St.) at Spring Creek Park, in the North Brooklyn submarket of Kings County. Initial plans for Phase II call for more than 600,000 square feet of new retail development directly adjacent to the nearly 650,000-square-foot Gateway Center, which opened in 2002 anchored by Home Depot, Target, and BJ's Wholesale Club, with "in-line" space taken by Marshalls, Best Buy, Old Navy, Staples and Bed Bath & Beyond.

Peter Ripka with RIPCO Real Estate; Glenn Goldstein, president with Related Retail; Alex Arancio, senior real estate representative with Wakefern Food Corp.; and John Hanlon, senior vice president with CBRE worked together on the lease deal.
