THE parents of a seven-year-old from Shirehampton are trying to raise 25,000 to pay for an operation so he can walk by himself.

Liam Doerwald-Walsh was diagnosed with cerebral palsy just before his first birthday.

He cannot walk or stand up by himself.

However, the youngster is the latest local child not to have their treatment funded by the NHS, despite other local health trusts funding operations at Frenchay for youngsters from other parts of the country.
