Freedom Institute announced today the appointment of Rachel Russell as its Chief Clinical Officer. In this role, Ms. Russell will be responsible for supervising Freedom Institutes clinical team, overseeing the client service process, developing and integrating new programs and modalities, building relationships with other treatment centers, staff development and compliance. Working closely with Freedom Institutes leadership team and senior counselors, Ms. Russell will support the ongoing integration of family work into chemical dependency treatment, which is at the core of Freedom Institute's philosophy. She also will work with the clinical team to further build Freedom Institutes adolescent and school programs, helping to expand Freedom Institute and its programs overall.

Ms. Russell takes over the role from Michael Noth, who has been Freedom Institutes Clinical Director since 2007. Mr. Noth will remain as a Senior Counselor with Freedom Institute, working side by side with Ms. Russell to effect a smooth transition while devoting more time to building his private practice.

Rachels reputation in the Freedom Institute community and in the field in general is stellar, said Bob Miller, chairman of the board of Freedom Institute. She has worked with youth and families throughout her career and brings to this role a combined skill set of operations, development and clinical work. She is the right choice to help lead our clinical staff as Freedom Institute expands and focuses more on adolescent counseling and family treatment.

I have always been proud of Freedom Institutes exceptional work, and welcome the opportunity to lead such a dynamic, dedicated and talented team of clinicians, said Ms. Russell. Having taken time away from counseling work to learn more about operations, I am excited to return to the clinical side and aim to bring a holistic approach to this new role. I look forward to helping Freedom Institute grow and expand its critical work.

Ms. Russell joined Freedom Institute in June 2007 to work alongside its executive director implementing a development and operational infrastructure to better support Freedom Institutes clinical practice. In this role, Rachel collaborated closely with the clinical team, providing superior client service and support of clinical staff on all client work. Rachel was appointed a member of Freedom Institutes leadership team in 2010, and has been highly involved in supporting new initiatives. She holds a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and has worked in social services for nearly 20 years, primarily as a youth and family counselor and program manager in underserved communities.
