Since the creation of Denim & Diamonds for Autism, ACT Today! has provided over $1 million dollars in access to care and treatment to children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) whose families cannot afford the necessary tools their children need to reach their highest potential. Direct access has been given for therapy, medical care, social skills programs, tuition for special needs schools, assistive technology, basic safety equipment, assistance for military families with children with autism, and assistance dogs.
"Our goal is for this fundraiser is to raise enough money to fulfill grants on our current waiting list," says ACT Today!s executive director Nancy Alspaugh-Jackson. "We are truly grateful for corporate supporters like Natrol, who make it possible for ACT Today! to provide immediate and direct help to children with autism and their families."
Denim & Diamonds for Autism will feature a star-studded red carpet, silent and live auctions, seated dinner with program featuring celebrity presenters, live musical entertainment, and a special tribute to 2013 ACTivist honoree and television executive Vin Di Bona, and 2013 Golden Cowgirl and Shape magazine Lifestule editor Susan Campbell Cross. Approximately, 500 guests are expected to attend.
