Autism expert pediatrician to speak in Trinity

TRINITY A nationally recognized authority on autism will speak at the next meeting of Helping HANDs at Medical Center of Trinity.

David Berger is scheduled to appear at the Hope for Autism and Neurological Disorders meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the hospital, 9330 S.R. 54.

Berger, who is with Wholistic Pediatrics and Family Care in Tampa, is a board-certified pediatrician who specializes in biomedical therapies, as advocated by the Autism Research Institute, according to hospital spokeswoman Mary Sommise.

Berger also specializes in treatment for ADHD and related disorders.

He graduated from Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1994 and did his pediatric residency at the University of South Florida. He began in private practice in 1997 and opened Wholistic in 2005.

In 2010 Berger was named an assistant professor at the University of South Florida College of Nursing.

National Autism Association has tapped Berger to speak Saturday, Nov. 16, during the National Autism Conference Nov. 14-17 in St. Pete Beach.

His remarks at the conference will focus on Preconception and Prenatal Strategies for a Healthy Baby.
