SOUTHEAST A man reported missing fromthe Hudson Valley Cerebral Palsy Association was found face down and submerged in 6 feet of water on Wednesday.

Two New York State troopers Zone Sgt. John Hennigan, a 23-year veteran, and Trooper Jason Kim, who's been on the force for two years jumped into the "frigid" pondand pulled the 40-year-old victim to the shoreline.

State police said the troopers "swiftly administered" first aid to the victim, who was conscious and semi-alert, untilEmstar Ambulance arrived at the scene.

The ambulance rushed the victim to Danbury Hospital for further medical treatment.

Before state police arrived, staff from the Hudson Valley Cerebral Palsy Associationhad been looking for the man who went missing a short time before he was found in the water.

A surveyor working in the area saw him in a pond at the intersection of Route 22 and Doansburg Roadand flagged down the two troopers shortly before 11:30 a.m.

"Thanks to the alertness of the area surveyor, the disabled man was saved," the state police said in a press release.
