Abhishek Varman: Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor have great chemistry

Abhishek Varman has said that Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor share "great chemistry" on screen.

"I think both actors are incredibly talented, as shown by some of their past projects, and they interpreted the characters from the book perfectly," shared Varman.

"It's also an added bonus that they have great chemistry together, as that's not something you can guarantee until you begin filming."

Varman makes his directorial debut with 2 States, having previously assisted on My Name Is Khan, Jodhaa Akbar and Humko Deewana Kar Gaye.

Speaking about his first film as a director, he said: "I've worked with Karan Johar on a number of other projects, as his Associate Director, and so he initially approached me, asking me what I thought of the project. I was immediately excited by the prospect.

Based on Chetan Bhagat's book of the same name, the novelist recently joined Bhatt and Kapoor in London for the film's red carpet premiere.
