The Association for Science in Autism Treatment (ASAT) has partnered with Hoboken-based HOPES CAP Inc. for the 4th Annual "Rock'n 4 Autism Awareness" benefit concert on Saturday, May 3.
The event will feature a special welcome from Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer and a performance by hometown family-friendly band, "Fuzzy Lemons." Cindy Vero from 103.5 FM's KTU radio station will host the festivities.
Children can look forward to face painting, games, and fun-filled activities. Over 100 businesses supported the cause last year and raised over $20,000.
The charity event will provide an educational experience with resource tables staffed by parents and professionals who will provide information and take-away materials. The Centers for Disease Control currently estimates that 1 in 88 children have autism and there are currently one million people living with autism in the United States.
The indoor/outdoor event will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. at HOPES' Auditorium, 301 Garden St., Hoboken. Tickets for the event are available at asat.givezooks.com/events/rock-n-4-autism-awareness-2014.
