Biology Subject Leader, Southend-on-Sea

This National Teaching School is seeking to appoint a subject leader for Biology to join our enthusiastic team, teaching Science & Biology to A Level from September 2014.

We have a purpose built ten laboratory block. We attract very large numbers of A Level Scientists; currently we have 20 A Level Science sets. The person appointed to join the department will have good teaching skills, an enthusiasm for Science.

Results are good and pupils enjoy these subjects. Good facilities, teaching resources and schemes of work are in place.

Westcliff is a highly successful and oversubscribed Academy Grammar School; our pupils are hardworking and a pleasure to teach. The successful applicant will be able to assist with our outreach activities linked to our status as a National Teaching School and as a satellite venue for the Science Learning Centre (East of England), and will benefit from the many CPD opportunities which arise from these aspects of our work.
