LITTLE ROCK, AR- Things are starting to look up for Mark Posey. The UAMS patient battling myeloma went into remission last month and he'll undergo a stem cell transplant over Christmas.

Posey is still not used to having no hair.

"Took one treatment of chemo here and it all fell out at one time," he said.

Which is why he was reluctant to go on camera and instead let his wife, Hollie, tell his story.

"He was diagnosed on September 27th, 2010 with multiple myeloma stage four," she said.

The couple has been married more than 30 years and have two children, who are both back in Texas where the family is from.

Even though they are far from loved ones they have found joy over the last six months spent here in Arkansas.

"We've been to Petit Jean, Pinnacle," said Hollie. "There's not a place in Little Rock that's not absolutely beautiful...And everywhere we go not one person has said one wrong word to us," she added. "They've been so good to us."

Halfway through our interview, Mark gets enough strength to say a few words.

"UAMS has given me a lot of hope," he said. "They're great compared to what I was getting in Texas."
