An electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) is a test that checks for problems with the electrical activity of your heart. An EKG shows the hearts electrical activity as line tracings on paper.

Often referred to as a cardiac echo or simply an echo, is a sonogram of the heart. (It is not abbreviated as ECG, an abbreviation for an electrocardiogram.) Uses standard two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and Doppler ultrasound to create images of the heart.

A nuclear exercise stress test is a diagnostic testused to evaluate blood flow to the heart. During the test,a small amount of radioactive tracer is injected into a vein. A special camera, called a gamma camera, detects the radiation released by the tracer to produce computer images of the heart.
