SLUCarecardiologists are the forefront of heart treatment in St. Louis, offering new techniques such as a hybrid approach toatrial fibrillation (A-Fib) that combines surgery and the use of a catheter to help the heart regain its proper rhythm. (Learn more about Hybrid Maze at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital.)

Each advance continues a tradition of excellent heart care pioneered by the Saint Louis University cardiologists who performed the region's first heart transplant and established the area's first cardiac catheterization laboratory.

As part of an academic medical practice, SLUCare cardiologists are teachers at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where their work is rated highly both locally and nationally. They are also researchers participating in key studies of the heart, including those funded by the National Institutes of Health.

Our cardiologists provide state-of-the-art heart services in SLUCare's 10,000-square-foot clinic at the University Tower office building, including cardiac stress tests, ECGs, and monitoring of arrhythmias and cardiovascular devices.

Our providers also see patients at SLUCare Des Peres, where our services include echocardiographic rest and stress studies, and diagnostic cardiac catheterization. Our outpatient cardiac catheterization services are also available at the SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital - West Pavilion.

This cutting-edge technology allows for a complete diagnostic study of the heart which allows many patients to go home after just a few hours.
