Gross anatomy involves the study of major body structures by dissection and observation and in its narrowest sense is concerned only with the human body. Gross anatomy customarily refers to the study of those body structures large enough to be examined without the help of magnifying devices, while microscopic anatomy is concerned with the study of structural units small enough to be seen only with a light microscope. Dissection is basic to all anatomical research. The earliest record of its use was made by the Greeks, and Theophrastus called dissection anatomy, from ana temnein, meaning to cut up. Comparative anatomy, the other major subdivision of the field, compares similar body structures in different species of animals in order to understand the adaptive changes they have undergone in the course of evolution. On the April 10 episode of Greys Anatomy, spirits arelifted as the entire Grey Sloane Memorial Hospital is celebrating Cristina Yang being nominatedfor a major award. Meanwhile, Karev debates leaving the hospital, while Callie and Arizona facea major decision about their future together. Cristinas time at Grey Sloane Memorial Hospital is slowly coming to an end, but the April 10 episode of Greys Anatomy revealed she is going out with high honors. The opening of the April 10 episode of Greys Anatomy is drastically different and less gross than its predecessor. Exciting news is announced when we find out that Cristina (Sandra Oh) has been nominated for the Harper Avery Award. On tonights all new Greys Anatomy Cristina Yangs colleagues try to congratulate the doctor on an extraordinary recognition only to be shut out by her levelheadedness. Last week the flu swept through the hospital taking down doctor after doctor. While the interns made light of their colleagues pain, Derek and Avery did not see the humor in their symptoms. April and Avery work through a personality conflict, April wants to help Avery through the illness, but learns that some dogs are better left lying in their own sickness.
