Coronary heart disease and heart failure continue to be significant burdens to healthcare systems in the Western world. In the United States alone, there are 7.1 million survivors of myocardial infarction (MI) and 4.9 million people living with congestive heart failure (CHF).1 Despite recent advances in medical and device therapy for heart failure, the incidence, hospitalization, and mortality rates continue to rise. After receiving a diagnosis of CHF, 1 in 5 patients will be dead within 12 months.1 Therefore, any new treatment modality that benefits heart failure patients has the potential to result in a dramatic improvement in health outcomes and substantial cost savings for the community. The possibility of using stem cellbased therapies for people suffering an acute MI or living with CHF has captured the imagination of both the medical and popular communities. Since early reports in animal models >10 years ago,2,3 the stem cell field has made enormous advances in moving toward clinically applicable treatment options, and we now stand at the dawn of a new therapeutic era. An abundance of preclinical data demonstrate safety, feasibility, and efficacy, justifying the current entry into clinical trials of stem cell therapy in humans.48 This position, however, is extremely controversial, … Continue reading

JOHN PELOZA, M.D.FIRST IN DALLAS TO LAUNCHREVOLUTIONARY STEM CELL THERAPY TO PROMOTE NATURAL HEALING FOR BACK PAIN A ground-breaking new treatment utilizing mesenchymal stem cells to treat patients with neck and back pain caused from degenerative disc disease, is being used by John Peloza, M.D. in Dallas. Mesenchymal stem cells are harvested from the patients hip bone, processed and then injected into the painful tissue during the same procedure. These particular cells have regenerative properties, helping to promote natural healing within the damaged disc or joint. There is no surgical exposure, damage to normal tissues or loss of motion in the spine. A spine surgeon & clinical researcher, Dr. Pelozawas the first in Dallas to utilize the treatment, and he is seeing great promise with pain relief for patients with degenerative disc disease. A pioneer in modern spine treatments, Dr. Peloza has been using mesenchymal stem cell therapy for years to promote bone growth in patients undergoing minimally invasive spine stabilization. This new technique has the potential to heal damaged or degenerative discs and joints with a biologic solution rather than major surgery. Stem cell therapy can be performed safely in an ambulatory surgery center under conscious sedation in most … Continue reading

A Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) occurs when a bump, blow, or jolt to the head causes injury to the brain. Falls, sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and violence are common causes of TBI. We are seeking individuals who have had Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) to participate in current and future research studies for the treatment of TBI. We are currently seeking participants in a clinical trial of modified stem cell therapy for TBI called STEMTRA (STEM cell therapy for TRAumatic brain injury). Interested participants will complete a questionnaire for a TBI research participant recruitment registry. The information in the registry will be used to identify potential participants for STEMTRA and future clinical research studies. Stem cells are cells that have the potential to develop into different types of cells within the body. Th STEMTRA Study is investigating whether adult bone-marrow-derived stem cells improve function after TBI. A clinical trial is a research study designed to assess the safety or efficacy of a treatment or intervention. A participant recruitment registry is a listing of people who are interested in participating in research studies. Read more: Stem Cell Therapy for TBI | Study Eligibility ... … Continue reading

Our integrative staff has been using regenerative therapy for almost 2 decades. Using regenerative injection treatments such as Stem Cells, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Prolotherapy and Prolozone Injections we are able to fix the root cause of many orthopedic problems. Whether its to repair damage to cartilage such as in osteoarthitis of the knee, hip or shoulder or tightening or healing damages muscles and tendons such as rotator cuff tear and chronic spinal pain we are on the forefront of the most current methods in non surgical orthopedic regenerative therapy. Conventional medical treatment for neurological degenerative diseases makes no attempt to regenerate the damaged cells of diseased organs and tissues. Cell therapy, on the other hand, by stimulating regeneration, has the potential to restore function to injured, diseased, and debilitated neuronal. Using functional neurology, stem cell specific nutrition and specific neuronal stem cells Advanced Rejuvenation is finding great success with our brain based programs. Use your own stem cells to repair damage from lung disease.Since the lungs are one of our most vonerable organs when our regenerative capacity declines many will suffer COPD and other lung diseases as they age. Stem cells therapy can have a strong regenerative affected in … Continue reading

Cell therapy could slow decline in heart failure patients …

Posted: Published on April 6th, 2016

But that means about 2.5 million Americans live with heart failure that blocks blood vessels and reduces blood supply to the body. A new study provides an early indication that cell therapy using cells from bone marrow could one day help treat heart failure. Researchers gave 60 patients with heart failure an injection of the therapy in the heart and compared their rates of death and heart problems to those of 66 similar patients who received a placebo injection of saltwater in the heart. The researchers found that, during the year following the treatment, the patients who received the cell therapy had a 37% lower rate of death and hospitalization for heart failure-related problems, such as fluid buildup in the body or shortness of breath, compared with the placebo group. In the cell therapy group, 3.4% of the patients died and 51.7% were hospitalized for heart problems, whereas 13.7% of the placebo group died and 82.4% were hospitalized. In the year after the injection, 20.3% of the patients in the cell therapy group experienced an adverse event such as infection or stroke, compared with 41.8% of the placebo group. "It was surprising that the (placebo) patients did significantly worse," Patel … Continue reading

Autologous (autologous refers to cells, tissues or even growth factors that are re-implanted in the same individual as they come from, another words patient receives his or her own cells) cell therapy injections is a by-product of blood that is rich in Growth factors and platelets. Until now, its use has been confined to the hospital setting. This was due mainly to the cost of separating the cells from the blood and the large amount of blood needed to produce a suitable quantity of cells. New technology permits the doctor to harvest and produce a sufficient quantity of cells from only 30-50 cc of blood drawn from the patient while they are in the office setting. It takes about 20 minutes to harvest these cells prior to injection. These cells allow the body to take advantage of the normal healing pathways at a greatly accelerated rate. During the healing process, the body rushes many cells and cell-types to the injected area in order to accelerate the healing process. These cells perform many functions, including release of growth factors (GF) into the diseased or arthritic and injured sites. Another main function is attracting Mesenchymal Stem Cells to the damaged area. These … Continue reading

Meridian, Miss. Meet Champ, a 5 year old cocker spaniel who is full of life and love, but suffers from a ligament tear that hinders his mobility. Rather than have an invasive surgery which would require pain medications, Champs owners decided to go for an innovative procedure that will use his own cells to help heal and improve the tear. We are not going inside the joint per say or that kind of reconstruction, we are going to go inside the joint just to inject cells back in the joint, so that the body is allowed to use its own repair system to repair that ligament, explained Veterinarian Dr. Wayne Adams. Stem cell procedures previously took several days to complete, from extracting the cells and mailing them off to a lab, but now all of this can be done in house. We can digest the tissue, extract those dormant cells, and then we activate them with platelet plasma and low level laser light and then those cells are reintroduced back into that same pet in places of ailment, stated Trey Smith, Medivet Biologics. Stem cell procedures are becoming more mainstream in veterinary and human medicine, and are being used to … Continue reading
