From a very young age, Jerron Herman had dreams of making it big in the cutthroat world of performing arts. Though he grew up in a small town in northern California, the self-described theater geek always knew hed end up in New York City. Herman was born with cerebral palsy, which by most peoples estimates would prevent him from fulfilling his ambitious goals. But in a recent interview with Faithwire, the now-professional dancer and choreographer shared how his Christian faith has enabled him to achieve the impossible. Herman, 26, initially came to New York with the goal of becoming a professional writer. Im a theater geek, and a writer first, he explained. I wanted to be a storyteller through theater, primarily. And I wanted to write for Broadway, and I wanted to write for television that was my dream. It wasnt until midway through college that Herman first considered a career in dancing. An inspirational 10-year-old with cerebral palsy mixed with stars including Craig David, Fleur East and Paloma Faith at one of the most prestigious fundraising events in the UK. Mia Thorne, who has congenital hemiplegia, attended the Caudwell Childrens annual Butterfly Ball last week and mum Karene said by the end of the event celebrities were actually coming up to her asking for a photo. She was representing Wales as the child ambassador at the event and now counts celebrities such as Peter Andre, Blues Lee Ryan, and former Queen of the Jungle Vicky Pattison among her pals having met more than once. Mum Karene said: She was like a mini celebrity and spent lots of time chatting to all of the different stars. It was a truly amazing experience with all the celebrities walking the purple carpet. Kelvin Fletcher from Emmerdale and Lee Ryan were particularly amazing with Mia and danced with her. More legal woes for man in cerebral palsy patient attack – Allentown Morning Call

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (AP) Legal problems are mounting for a Pennsylvania man accused of sucker punching another man outside a convenience store after making fun of him because he showed symptoms of cerebral palsy. Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan announced the bench warrant for 29-year-old Barry Baker for violating parole and failing to appear for a separate domestic relations matter Thursday. The new charges are unrelated to the attack. Baker, who also owns a home in Delaware, was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct for a May 10 attack captured on the store's security cameras. He's out on bail in that charge. The footage shot at 2:30 a.m. shows a man police say is Baker mocking the victim before punching him in the face without warning. Father accused of abusing 2-year-old with cerebral palsy – KVUE

KVUE 5:47 PM. CDT May 30, 2017 A man was arrested last week for allegedly abusing his 2-year-old child who has cerebral palsy, according to an arrest affidavit. According to the affidavit, the Williamson County Sheriff's Office was called to a Leander Middle School after a sixth-grade student told school staff that he witnessed his father, Alejandro Gonzalez, 48, physically abusing his 2-year-old brother. The student told deputies that the abuse had happened on several occasions in the past but most recently on May 22. He said that on that occasion, Gonzalez grabbed the 2-year-old by the hair and shook him while he was bound in his high-chair and being fed. He said that his little brother has Cerebral Palsy, a muscular disorder, that makes it difficult for him to chew and swallow food. He said his father had gotten angry with the child for not eating. The student told deputies he hadvideoed the incident on his cell phone and sent it to his older sister. Deputies contacted the sister and viewed the video of the abuse. WILDWOOD, NJ (WTXF) - A local boy who asked a girl with cerebral palsy to her Sweetheart Formal leading to her now viral reaction finally made their way to formal together this weekend. 16-year-old Bryce asked Madison to accompany him to the formal earlier this month, nearly bringing Madison and her family to tears. It's likely every mom's dream for their daughter, but Samantha Kelly thought it would never happen her little girl 15-year-old Madison because she has Cerebral Palsy. "I wanted to cry," said Madisons mother said after Bryce asked her daughter to the dance. DyneshiaBellamy is Madison's nurse. She came up with the idea for her 16-year-old son Bryce to ask Madison to the sweetheart ball for people with disabilities. Bryce agreed and went all out with a sign and flowers asking Madison to the dance. A warrant has been issued for Barry Baker, as county officials say he is wanted for a probation violation. There was one obvious option he could write about living with cerebral palsy. But for the self-professed nerd with interests ranging from theater to physics, focusing on the neurological disorderseemed limiting. Ball did write about his cerebral palsy. But he flipped the script onthe expected adversity angle. "It's apart of me," Ball said of his cerebral palsy. "But not all of me."
