THIS is the shocking moment a sick bully mocks a man with cerebral palsy then punches him in the face. The cruel man sees his victim walk out of a store and immediately mimics his walk. West Chester Police As the disabled man turns around to confront his taunter he is hit on the side of his face with a hard blow. He staggers against his car in disbelief while holding his face as his attacker laughs and walks away. Barry Baker, who was caught mocking the 22-year-old man, is seen making a gesture with his hands as if the punch hurt. He reportedly fled the area but was arrested after police looked at footage. He was filmed targeting the young man outside a 7-Eleven in West Chester, Pennsylvania on May 10. He has been charged with assault after it is alleged he waited for the man to come out of the store and punched him. Baker has been released on bail and will return to court on May 30. WEST CHESTER, Pa. (NBC 10) A man was caught on camera mocking and sucker punching a person with cerebral palsy outside a West Chester, Pennsylvania 7-Eleven store, according to investigators. Police say Barry Baker, 29, of Coatesville, was with his friends at a 7-Eleven store on 200 South High Street in West Chester back on May 10 around 2:30 a.m. At the same time a 22-year-old man with cerebral palsy drove into the parking lot of the store and parked his vehicle. As he got out and went into the 7-Eleven, Baker began making fun of him and mocking how he walked, investigators said. When the victim got back out of the store, Baker mocked him again and began to imitate how he moved, according to police. As the victim stood in front of his vehicle, Baker sucker punched him in the face, according to police. He then fled around the corner of the store. Police say the entire ordeal was captured on surveillance video. The defendants actions in this case are appalling, West Chester Police Chief Scott Bohn said. Mendenhall is the founder and guitarist of The Mendenhall Experiment, which is scheduled to perform at 11:30 p.m. Saturday on the AXiS Entertainment Campground Stage at the Rocklahoma music festival in Pryor. Many years ago, Mendenhall might have needed the assistance of a walker or braces to be able to navigate his way around a stage. Now he gets around just fine, thanks in part to nine corrective surgeries. Mendenhall has cerebral palsy, a neurological disorder that sabotages muscle control and motor function. Never mind all that, Mendenhall decided when he was a kid he wanted to be in a rock band. Of course, he was met with a chorus of You cant do that. COLUMBIANA, Ohio (WKBN) An extraordinary Columbiana High School student graduated with honors last week, despite several challenges and spending most of her life in and out of hospitals. Lexi Krosky was born with cerebralpalsy, is legally blind, and lives her life in a wheelchair. Shes been in the hospital, shes had more surgeries than birthdays, so theres still a lot of scary stuff, days that we have, said her mother, Rachel Krosky. But last Sunday, after being named to the National Honor Society, Lexi graduated from Columbiana High School with honors. Lexi worked very hard in high school, she studied a lot. Its important for her to do well, Rachel said. She also fit right in and was a cheerleader all four years. The fans are amazing. If shes not there, theyre asking if shes okay and shes healthy because they worry about her, Rachel said. Lexis mother only had good things to say about Columbiana Schools. When she walks to the door, she got 20 football players opening the doors for her. Its so beautiful, so much love there. A Coatesville, Pennsylvania man has been arrested after mocking and sucker punching a man who has cerebral palsy outside a convenience store. Barry Baker, 29, was arrested after the incident was captured on surveillance cameras. According to the Delcore Times, Baker and his friend were at a 7-11 convenience store when a 22-year-old man who has cerebral palsy drove into the parking lot. Boy with cerebral palsy receives ramp during Master Builders Association Rampathon – Auburn Reporter

Nice gesture: Mayor Nancy Backus visits Trenton Heuring Smart and a friend while volunteers build a ramp for the Auburn boy last Saturday. COURTESY PHOTO Volunteers gave their time and expertise to build a ramp for an 11-year-old Auburn boy last Saturday. Trenton Heuring Smart was born with cerebral palsy and has seizures. He cant walk or speak. The ramp will help caregivers transport him in and out of his home for safely. The ramp was made possible through the efforts of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties, Dunn Lumber, Pacific Lumber Inspection Bureau and volunteers. Mayor Nancy Backus stopped by to visit Smart, his family and caregivers and thank the volunteers. Members of the Master Builders Association, through dedication, hard work, and the donation of their time and talent, continue to work to improve the lives of individuals and families in communities. Since 1993, more than 440 ramps have been built and $1.7 million of in-kind donations provided. CHENEY, Kan. (KWCH) -- Like a proud parent, Gay Gower talks about her grandson's accomplishments as he graduates from Cheney High School in Cheney, Kansas. "For his use of technology with his chair, he received Infinitech outstanding technology achievement," she said. But that's not all. Her grandson, Dustin Gower, has also been featured in his high school newspaper multiple times. "He made some artwork and he donated that as part of their community school service day," Gay said. The recognition means so much for the family because Dustin is a unique 17-year-old. "He has cerebral palsy," Gay said. "He was born prematurely and it's been in effect since then. It was diagnosed when he was nine months old." But, his diagnosis has not stopped Dustin. With the use of special buttons and handles, Dustin is able to move himself around on his wheelchair by using only his hand, chin and mouth. "Just because you don't have use in a certain limb, it doesn't mean you can't use another one," Dustin said.
