Ponca City, Oklahoma (PRWEB) July 16, 2014 The home school or on-line learning high school is growing in popularity. Yet, for all the benefits of these approaches, there are some downsides. One of which is the availability of a laboratory component for science courses. The most often mentioned barrier, particularly for chemistry, is the availability of the materials required to conduct the laboratories as they use traditional laboratory type chemicals and/or specialized equipment. Sophic Pursuits, Inc. is working to remove this particular barrier as a chemistry laboratory course does not have to be expensive or require hard to find supplies. Basic laboratory skills can be learned using materials that are found in most kitchens. Discovering Chemistry is currently in the pilot testing phase, with a full release of the materials to be available in the early fall. And, Sophic Pursuits is looking for pilot test families to help with this effort. The laboratory course is designed to accompany any chemistry text or can stand alone.
