Henri Cramail received his engineering degree from ENSCPB (Ecole Nationale Suprieure de Chimie et de Physique de Bordeaux) in 1987 and obtained his PhD from the University of Bordeaux 1 in 1990. Following post-doctoral work at the University of Durham, U.K., he became an Assistant Professor of Polymer Chemistry at the University of Bordeaux 1 and, in 1999, was appointed Professor at the same university. Dr. Cramail has been Director of the Chemistry Laboratory of Organic Polymers (LCPO) since 2007 and currently leads their Biopolymers and Bio-based Polymers team. His research concerns the development of green pathways to bio-based polymers from renewable resources (vegetable oils, carbohydrates, terpenes, CO2). Philippe Dubois, Ph.D. in Science, is a full professor at the University of Mons (UMONS, Belgium) and Director of the Center for Innovation and Research in Materials & Polymers (CIRMAP, 165 employees). Prof. Dubois is Scientific Director at Materia Nova ASBL Research Center in Mons and former President of the Belgian Royal Chemical Society. His expertise covers organic chemistry, macromolecular chemistry, catalysis in polymer materials, and melt (reactive) processing/engineering of nanocomposite and nanohybrid materials, including biodegradable and bio-sourced polymers. Worlds oldest man turns 112 in Japan

February 5, 2015 The chemistry teacher and high school principal is still in good health. TOKYO: A Japanese recognised as the worlds oldest living man by the Guinness World Records last August turned 112 today. Xinhua news agency reports Sakari Momoi, a resident of Saitama city near Tokyo, enjoys good health today. Momoi celebrated his birthday with family members at a healthcare institution in Tokyo where he now lives. He was born on February 5, 1903 in Fukushima prefecture and previously held the positions of agricultural chemistry teacher and principal of government-run high schools in Fukushima and Saitama. The worlds oldest living woman is 116-year-old Misao Okawa of Osaka. Okawa will turn 117 next month. Posted: Tuesday, February 3, 2015 9:51 pm Patients treated, released after chemistry explosion By Amy Cunningham News Editor Daily Toreador - Dept. of Student Media, Texas Tech University | After a minor explosion occurred in the Chemistry building on Monday, the four injured people were released from University Medical Center the same day. Eric Finley, UMC spokesperson, said the patients were treated and released from the hospital Monday. Finley could not confirm if the injured individuals were Tech students, he said. According to the Tech police blotter, a chemical waste container exploded and injured four students at 3:12 p.m. Monday in the Chemistry building.
