Drugs over Long-Term Can Produce Severe Side Effects While Dr. Allen’s Devices Treat Coronary Heart Disease & Enlarged …
Posted: Published on November 23rd, 2012
Every medication has its own side effects; so in combination, some medications may interact with each other, thus rendering one ineffective or even hyper-effective, so taking several drugs may damage health even more, whereas Fine Treatment recommends effective therapeutic Dr. Allen's Devices for the natural treatment of chronic conditions, such as BPH and coronary heart disease. London, UK (PRWEB) November 22, 2012 Another article reveals, testosterone gels can have side effects: acne, prostate enlargement and an increased prostate cancer risk, see Testosterone Gel Fails to Boost Viagras Effects, by A. Norton, in HealthDay News of November 19, 2012. Furthermore it says, men who have erectile dysfunction and low testosterone may get no extra benefit from adding the hormone to their Viagra prescription. Researchers found that, over 14 weeks, men who were randomly assigned to take Viagra plus testosterone gel did no better than those given the drug plus a hormone-free placebo gel. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) with reference to Prostate Enlargement: Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, BPH medications do not prevent surgery: because drug treatment is not effective in all cases, researchers in recent years have developed a number of procedures that relieve BPH symptoms which are less … Continue reading

Report: Pradaxa Among Main Causes for Rise in Drug Complaints
Posted: Published on November 21st, 2012
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 20, 2012 A report issued by the Institute for Safe Medicine Practices QuarterWatch (PDF) on October 3, 2012 estimates that prescription drug complaints to the FDA have risen 90% in the past 4 years, and two drugs, Pradaxa and Chantix, are responsible for 37% of that increase. Judge David Herndon, who is overseeing the ongoing Pradaxa bleeding litigation in a federal MDL Court, recently ordered that German drug maker Boehringer Ingelheim will have to provide access to its foreign witnesses and documents, according to a Case Management Order Regarding Foreign Defendants and Direct Filing signed on October 20, 2012. http://www.ilsd.uscourts.gov/opinions/ilsd_live.3.12.md.2385.2184887.0.pdf#search=%22pradaxa%22 The report comes as The Journal for The American Medical Association last month warned that the FDA may have rushed approval of Pradaxa, overlooking key Pradaxa side effects like internal bleeding. The FDA warned on December 7, 2011 that it was investigating Pradaxa after receiving more injury or death reports than expected. Anyone affected by internal bleeding after taking Pradaxa is urged to speak with a lawyer about their legal options as soon as possible. While all anticoagulants can cause internal bleeding, the Journal of Neurosurgery reported doctors concerns on March 6, 2012 that, once … Continue reading

FDA Investigates Energy Drink Side Effects
Posted: Published on November 21st, 2012
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Food and Drug Administration is taking a closer look at energy drinks to determine whether they are harmful to your health. The FDA is currently conducting an investigation into the possibility of a link between 13 deaths that occurred in the last four years and the 5-Hour Energy drink. The agency is also investigating five other deaths that could be linked to the Monster energy drinks. Some doctors say the high concentration of caffeine and similar ingredients in energy drinks can take a toll on a persons body, and it is difficult to measure how much of those ingredients a persons body can handle. Dr. Marchel Casavant says he has seen a number of patients who have had seizures after consuming these drinks. Weve gotten a number of calls, somewhere in the hundreds, from people complaining about the effects from these products. The makers of the 5-Hour Energy drink say the drink should be taken in moderation. Caffeine is not a bad thing, except in very large quantities. Its actually helpful in a lot of areas, said 5-Hour Energy Inventor Manjo Bhargava. Casavant says the drinks are similar to amphetamines. These are things that are not … Continue reading

Yaz Still Ranks Among Top Three For Bayer Despite Warnings
Posted: Published on November 21st, 2012
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) November 21, 2012 The latest financial report from German drugmaker Bayer made headlines as the company announced it would invest an additional $262 million to settle Yaz lawsuits. However, it may surprise more to note that the birth control drug still ranks among the top three most popular in sales despite more than 13,500 claims for blood clots.* The news comes as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists last month renewed warnings that birth control pills containing drospirenone such as Yaz and Yasmin may have a higher risk of causing blood clots, according to the Chicago Tribune on October 24, 2012. In October of 2011, the FDA released a study entitled "Combined Hormonal Contraceptives and the Risk of Cardiovascular Disease Endpoints" which found that drugs like Yaz could increase the risk of blood clots, DVT and pulmonary embolism by as much as 74%. Anyone who suffered a blood clot, DVT, stroke or Yaz Pulmonary Embolism after taking the drug is urged to contact the Drug Risk Resource Center or speak with a lawyer about their legal options. Bayer confirmed in the latest report that it is settling claims involving blood clot injuries, such as deep vein … Continue reading

Drug Risk Center Launched Amid Rise in Drug Complaints

Experts have also recently warned of the safety of birth control products Yaz, Yasmin and NuvaRing. Last month, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists renewed warnings that birth control pills containing drospirenone such as Yaz and Yasmin may have a higher risk of causing blood clots, according to the Chicago Tribune on October 24, 2012. On June 14, 2012, the New England Journal of Medicine also published a study finding vaginal ring contraceptives could relate to a 2.5 to 3-fold increased risk of blood clots over oral contraceptives. The Drug Risk Resource Center is committed to making prescription drug usage safer through public awareness of the latest research, safety warnings, FDA recalls and legal action. Already, legal action is underway in federal courts for patients who used Pradaxa, Yaz, Yasmin or NuvaRing and claim they were injured.* In addition, legal action over the IUD contraceptive Mirena is … Continue reading

Latest Court Update Shows Pradaxa Lawsuits on the Rise
Posted: Published on November 21st, 2012
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) November 21, 2012 The latest report from the Judicial Panel on MultiDistrict Litigation indicates the number of Pradaxa cases filed in federal court over internal bleeding has risen, from approximately 100 to 151. The JPML issued its latest report on November 14, 2012.* The report comes as researchers disagree on the safety of the drug. The Journal for The American Medical Association warned on September 3, 2012 that the FDA may have rushed approval of Pradaxa, overlooking key Pradaxa side effects like internal bleeding. In its latest study released November 4, 2012, however, the FDA stated that, for now, Pradaxa carries the same risk as other blood thinners. A report issued by the Institute for Safe Medicine Practices QuarterWatch** on October 3, 2012 estimates that prescription drug complaints to the FDA have risen 90% in the past 4 years, and two drugs, Pradaxa and Chantix, are responsible for 37% of that increase. Visit http://www.DrugRisk.com New York, NY (PRWEB) November 21, 2012 However, the news comes as the FDA has received more than 45,000 adverse reports of complications among women using Mirena. The Adverse Events report on November 20, 2012 tracks the FDAs AERS reports through June 30, 2012. The most common Mirena side effects reported were device expulsion, device dislocation and vaginal hemorrhage, with more than 6% of patients requiring hospitalization or surgery. Anyone required to undergo surgery due to Mirena side effects is urged to speak with a lawyer about their legal options as soon as possible. The FDA has previously warned Bayer about the marketing of Mirena, which failed to disclose safety risks while claiming the devices could help busy moms with intimacy and make them look and feel great.* On November 11, 2012, Fox News reported that legal action over Mirena IUDs is on the horizon as Bayer faces growing claims that the device caused perforation, infection and hemorrhaging injuries.* Due to the number of Mirena lawsuits expected, Bayer recently petitioned that all cases be consolidated … Continue reading
