Rape Suspect Posts to Facebook – Video

Rape Suspect Posts to Facebook **Fight Censorship on YouTube** Michigan -- A man suspected of abducting and sexually assaulting a Central Michigan University student posted a final goodbye a few hours later on his Facebook page shortly before an officer fatally shot him, authorities said Friday. "Well folks, I'm about to get shot. Peace," was 30-year-old Eric Ramsey's last post to his Facebook wall around 3:15 am Thursday, Isabella County Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski told media sources in a telephone interview. Ramsey had been on parole since last summer after serving the minimum five-year prison sentence for assault with intent to do great bodily harm, according to Corrections Department online records. The maximum sentence was 15 years. Inmates are eligible for a parole review once they serve the minimum punishment.'The parole board generally doesn't give a rationale for why or why they don't parole (an inmate),' said Russ Marlan, a Corrections Department spokesman.'I looked at his behavior in prison. He was pretty good. He had six misconducts over five years. That's a small amount. He was in minimum security the entire time.' Ramsey had a job, regularly met with his parole officer … Continue reading

Drugs killed bison at Russian reserve
Posted: Published on January 19th, 2013
Published: Jan. 19, 2013 at 11:42 AM MOSCOW, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- A bison that died at a Russian wildlife reserve was apparently done in by a drug overdose, the necropsy report said. The bison named Shponti was thought at first to be the victim of food poisoning from rotten tomatoes and tangerines. However, closer forensic examination revealed fatal levels of caffeine and amphetamine in the animal's system. Veterinarian Vyacheslav Vasin told Russia's RIA Novosti news agency the stimulants were found in Shponti's kidney at levels high enough to cause cardiac arrest. Vasin downplayed suspicions the European bison imported from Germany was deliberately fed the fatal dose. He told the news agency the cost of the amphetamines was probably too high for the animal's overdose to have been deliberate. The vet suggested Shponti somehow came across the stimulants accidentally. Shponti died Jan. 7 at a reserve outside Moscow on the same day its female mate also dropped dead of unknown causes. TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- Health care giant Johnson & Johnson will focus on medical devices and new prescription drugs in development, plus progress on its manufacturing problems, when it reports fourth-quarter results before the stock market opens Tuesday. WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Besides announcing its results and giving its 2013 financial forecast, J&J is hosting a periodic update for analysts, this one on its medical devices and diagnostics business. It's grown into J&J's biggest segment, with roughly $26 billion in annual revenue from surgical devices, artificial joints, Acuvue contact lenses, diabetes testing supplies and diagnostic equipment. Executives will discuss products in development, growth strategies in developed and emerging markets and the approval of Evarrest, a sealant patch for stopping serious bleeding during surgery. They'll give an update on the integration of Synthes Inc., a maker of surgical trauma equipment and orthopedic implants. J&J bought Synthes in June for $19.7 billion, its biggest acquisition ever. It's been folded into J&J's DePuy orthopedics business as the new DePuy Synthes, which also makes devices and power tools for spine disorders, joint repair and sports medicine. J&J, based in New Brunswick, N.J., also sells prescription drugs and consumer health products such as Listerine and … Continue reading

HYPETRAK TV: Flosstradamus – Organic Virality – Video

HYPETRAK TV: Flosstradamus - Organic Virality Flosstradamus have set out over the past 12 months to break a whole host of rules about the music industry, nightlife clichs and the various stereotypes that are befit of a typical electronic music act. Their rise to prominence has seen them, through a number of free mixtape/EP releases, build an admirable fanbase around the world without the help of a label and largely through their own hype and online presence. The Chicago duo of J2K and Autobut (Josh Young and Curt Cameruci) avoid drugs and alcohol, and spend the vast majority of their time when not on stage -- making music in their mobile studio. We caught up with Flosstradamus during their recent visit to London, England for a chat and rolled along with them to their sold-out show at The Nest. Drugs cheat Lance: I’ve told one big lie
Posted: Published on January 18th, 2013
DISGRACED cyclist Lance Armstrong sensationally confessed to taking drugs in a TV interview early today. He told US talk show host Oprah Winfrey that he used performance enhancing drugs as well as illegal blood transfusions to gain an edge on his competitors. Armstrong, 41, who was stripped of his Olympics bronze medal yesterday, had strongly denied cheating for more than a decade. His seven Tour de France titles were taken away from him last year. Asked whether he felt it was possible to win the Tour seven times in succession without doping, he told Oprah: Not in my opinion. He admitted his use of EPO performance enhancing drugs began from the mid-90s. DISGRACED cyclist confesses to using performance enhancing drugs in TV interview with Oprah Winfrey He said: I suppose earlier in my career there was cortisone and then the EPO generation began. He told Oprah: I view this situation as one big lie, which I repeated a lot of times. I know the truth the truth wasnt out there, the truth wasnt what I said. The story was so perfect for so long. Cycling – Factbox: Performance enhancing drugs in sports
Posted: Published on January 18th, 2013
Armstrong's revelation that he cheated in international cycling races acknowledges that he used a cocktail of performance-enhancing drugs to try to boost red blood cells, improve strength and stamina, and mask his cheating from anti-doping authorities. Here are details of some of the drugs commonly used in sports doping. ERYTHROPOIETIN (EPO) * EPO is a peptide hormone that is produced naturally by the human body. It is released from the kidneys and acts on the bone marrow to stimulate red blood cell production. By injecting EPO, athletes aim to increase the concentration of red blood cells to boost their aerobic capacity. * EPO abuse has serious health risks. By thickening the blood, EPO abuse can lead to an increased risk of heart disease, stroke and cerebral or pulmonary embolism. The drug has been implicated in the deaths of several athletes. BLOOD DOPING * There are two forms of blood doping. Autologous blood doping is the transfusion of an athlete's own blood, which has been stored, refrigerated or frozen, until needed. Homologous blood doping is the transfusion of blood taken from another person with the same blood type. * Although the use of transfusions for blood doping dates back several decades, … Continue reading
