"Sometimes It's Only You" – Simply Doper – Video

"Sometimes It's Only You" - Simply Doper He was an alcoholic, with no money in his wallet, had a son and wife, a family I guess you could call it, happy at one point in life, but quickly fell apart, he spent most his nights getting wasted at a bar, coming home late, it's nothing new, one drink lead to two, then later leading to a few, forgetting your son is home alone waiting for you. That little boy is all you got, but you continue to let your liver rot, it's gotta stop, get your life straight, it's up to you to change your fate, cus death is coming for you at a fast rate, if you don't start today it just might be to late, but you pour another glass and continue to drink away. It's 3:38 your barely leavin the bar, keys in your hand trynna find the way to your car, you didn't park to far, so you should find it quick, once you do you quickly get inside of it and close the door let the engine roar, cruising past the liquor store, it's darker now then … Continue reading

Drugs cheat Lance Armstrong WON'T testify under oath with U.S. Anti-Doping Agency official

Attorney for the disgraced cyclist says that he will not submit to the USADA interview USADA officials told Armstrong that he must testify if he wanted to end his lifetime ban from cycling and compete again Armstrong admitted in January that he had doped prior to each of his seven Tour de France victories By Associated Press and Daily Mail Reporter PUBLISHED: 15:03 EST, 20 February 2013 | UPDATED: 15:13 EST, 20 February 2013 Lance Armstrong won't interview under oath with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency to reveal all he knows about doping in cycling, his attorney has said. USADA officials had told Armstrong he must speak with them if he wanted to reduce his lifetime ban from cycling and compete again - and today was the deadline. After more than two months of negotiations, Armstrong attorney Tim Herman said today that the cyclist won't participate in a process designed 'only to demonize selected individuals.' Refusal: Lance Armstrong won't interview under oath with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, which may have been his only chance at ending his lifetime ban from cycling Armstrong had previously said he was willing to participate in an international effort to clean up a sport that is … Continue reading

Source: The Courier-Mail CASH, drugs and guns have been seized in a major drug bust targeting a series of dealing networks. Police today announced the closure of operations Juliet Cheshire and Juliet Cheshire 2 following an 18-month investigation. Guns and cash were also seized, and police will apply to confiscate $1.5 million in assets from the alleged dealers. Police said four kilograms of ice was found during a bust on one of the drug dealing outfits. The raids also uncovered ecstasy, cocaine and cannabis. "The operations focused on disrupting drug distribution networks that had links to the Fortitude Valley entertainment precinct and certainly we've had some significant seizures that we're very happy about," Det Supt Holahan said. "The operations ran for a total of 18 months and we had extensive police resources involved. "Certainly were very … Continue reading

Scrap 'unwinnable' drugs war and divert funds into curbing global antibiotic misuse
Posted: Published on February 21st, 2013
Public release date: 20-Feb-2013 [ | E-mail | Share ] Contact: Stephanie Burns sburns@bmjgroup.com 44-020-738-36920 BMJ-British Medical Journal Governments around the world should stop squandering resources fighting an "unwinnable war" against illegal drugs, such as cocaine and heroin. Instead, they should use the cash to curb antibiotic misuse, which poses a far more serious threat to human health, claims a leading ethicist in the Journal of Medical Ethics. Dr Jonny Anomaly, of Duke University, Durham in North Carolina, USA, says that concerted collective action is needed to tackle the excessive and casual prescribing of antibiotics, which has led to a worrying rise in resistance to these medicines. "Government action is both more appropriate and more likely to be effective in regulating antibiotics than it is in criminalising narcotics," he writes. Dr Anomaly says the arguments put forward for continuing to plough resources into the war on illegal drugs, such as the need to curb the related violence and social harms, should, of course, be taken seriously. But he contends that "most of the violence and crime associated with narcotics is caused by laws that prohibit drug use, rather than drug use itself." And the argument that stimulant drugs increase violent … Continue reading

Regulate antibiotics not recreational drugs, ethicist argues
Posted: Published on February 21st, 2013
Governments worldwide should stop wasting money on criminalizing recreational drugs and use those funds to curb antibiotic misuse, a medical ethicist suggests. Philosophy Prof. Jonny Anomaly of Duke University in Durham, N.C., called the war on drugs "unwinnable and morally dubious," in his paper published this week in the Journal of Medical Ethics. "Most of the violence and crime associated with narcotics is caused by laws that prohibit drug use, rather than drug use itself," Anomaly wrote. Anomaly defines recreational drugs as illegal narcotics such as heroin and marijuana, illegal stimulants such as cocaine, and legal drugs that people take to relieve pain, reduce anxiety, induce euphoria etc. The claim that stimulants tend to make people violent has little evidence, Anomaly said. In contrast, when Portugal decriminalized recreational drugs, there was not a big increase in consumption. But antibiotic resistant infections often kill people or impair their health making the infections much more expensive to treat, Anomaly wrote. The collective harms of antibiotic use pose a serious threat. Although individual patients and doctors perceive benefits from antibiotics,it would be better to reserve them for serious infections, he claims. "My use of antibiotics may lead to an increased risk of infection … Continue reading

Elderly get more drugs in care homes
Posted: Published on February 21st, 2013
21 February 2013 Last updated at 03:28 ET Elderly people in NI are given drugs such as tranquilisers and anti-dementia drugs at a much higher rate in care homes than when they are living in the community, a study has found. The study was carried out by scientists from Queen's University Belfast. It analysed prescribing data for over 250,000 people, aged 65 years and over, living in NI from 2008 to 2010, It found that antipsychotic drug dispensing in older people more than doubled when they entered care. The study found that 8.2% were prescribed the drug before entry to care homes and that rose to 18.6% after entering care. Lead researcher on the Queen's study, Aideen Maguire, said: "Although drug dispensing is high in older people in the community, we have found that it increases dramatically on entry to care. "This study showed that the high uptake of psychotropic drugs observed in care homes in Northern Ireland cannot be explained by a continuation of drug use initiated in the community prior to entering care. "With an ageing population globally it is important that we look at the reasons behind this type of increase following admission to care. "Antipsychotic uptake … Continue reading
