Study Shows That a 50% Pay Raise Lowers the Risk of Cardiovascular Diseases by 15% – WORLD OF BUZZ

A new study posted in the Journal of the American Medical Association shows that a higher income can reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, while a pay cut increases the risk of disease by 17 percent. The team, composed of researchers from Brigham and Womens Hospital and Harvard Medical School, tracked 9,000 participants between the ages 45 and 64 for a span of 17 years. The team discovered that people whose salaries rose by 50 percent in six years had a nearly 15 percent lowered risk of cardiovascular disease, while those whose salaries had fallen by 50 percent had a 17 percent increased risk of the disease Continue reading
