SINGAPORE - For over two decades, Mr Edward Lee, 62, has been living with hypertension - a chronic disease that now makes him more vulnerable to experiencing severe symptoms from the coronavirus. It is a risk faced by nearly one in four adults between the ages of 39 and 60, and more than half of those aged 60 to 69, according to the Ministry of Health. Patients with rosacea may have a higher risk for hypertension and dyslipidemia, a risk that may be partly fueled by shared inflammatory and neurovascular dysfunction mechanisms, according to findings from a meta-analysis published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Researchers from China systematically reviewed the literature to identify studies that reported the risk for cardiometabolic disease in patients with rosacea.
