SINGAPORE - For over two decades, Mr Edward Lee, 62, has been living with hypertension - a chronic disease that now makes him more vulnerable to experiencing severe symptoms from the coronavirus. It is a risk faced by nearly one in four adults between the ages of 39 and 60, and more than half of those aged 60 to 69, according to the Ministry of Health. The Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) has warned that patients with hypertension "are more likely to develop severe symptoms and are at higher risk of complications from Covid-19". Continue reading

Rosacea Linked With Increased Risk for Hypertension and Dyslipidemia – Dermatology Advisor

Patients with rosacea may have a higher risk for hypertension and dyslipidemia, a risk that may be partly fueled by shared inflammatory and neurovascular dysfunction mechanisms, according to findings from a meta-analysis published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Researchers from China systematically reviewed the literature to identify studies that reported the risk for cardiometabolic disease in patients with rosacea. In total, 13 studies with a pooled cohort of 50,442 patients with rosacea were included in the review. Continue reading
