Likelihood of Myocardial Infarction, Revascularization and Death Following Catheterization Laboratory Activation in Patients With vs. Without Both…

Posted: Published on June 17th, 2020

Background:Emergent cardiac catheterization laboratory activation (CCLA) for patients with suspected ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is employed to expedite acute revascularization (AR). The incidence of false-positive CCLA, in which AR is not performed, remains high. The combination of chest pain (CP) and electrocardiographic ST elevation (STE) are the hallmarks of STEMI Continue reading

Apigenin Attenuates Myocardial Infarction-Induced Cardiomyocyte Injury by Modulating Parkin-mediated Mitochondrial Autophagy – DocWire News

Posted: Published on June 17th, 2020

We aimedto detect whether the effect of apigenin (Apig) on themyocardial infarction-induced cardiomyocyte injury of mouse myocardial cells and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) mice was through regulating Parkin expression via miR-103-1-5p. The myocardial infarction cardiomyocyte model (Hypoxia/reoxygenation) was first constructed, then the mouse myocardial cells were treated with Apig, and the expression of miR-103-1-5p was decreased and the expression of Parkin was increased by qRT-PCR and Western blot. Continue reading

Characteristics of Pediatric Inflammatory Syndrome Associated with SARS-CoV-2 Range From Fever to Myocardial Infarction – Clinical Advisor

Posted: Published on June 17th, 2020

A wide spectrum of symptoms and disease severity may characterize patients presenting with pediatric inflammatory multisystem syndrome (PIMS-TS) associated with SARS-CoV-2, including fever and inflammation, myocardial injury, shock, and development of coronary artery aneurysms, according to a study published in JAMA. The study included 58 pediatric patients from 8 hospitals in England who were admitted between March 23 and May 16, 2020, with persistent fever and laboratory evidence of inflammation, who met the Royal College of Physicians definition of PIMS-TS. Data including clinical and laboratory characteristics were extracted from both electronic and paper records Continue reading

Posted: Published on June 17th, 2020

Introduction: The aim of this study is to estimate how much of the recent decrease in mortality among patients with myocardial infarction with ST-segment elevation (STEMI) can be attributed to improved treatment strategies, and how much it is related to changes in baseline clinical characteristics, and to compare these findings for men and women. Continue reading
