Patients with cancer who contracted COVID-19 were more likely to present with aggressive COVID-19 disease and experience poor outcomes, according to data from a retrospective study presented at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Virtual Annual Meeting I 2020.1 The study was simultaneously published in the Annals of Oncology.2 Although patients with cancer are generally considered to be particularly vulnerable to COVID-19, the clinical characteristics of patients with cancer who contract the virus is unknown.
