Pharmacy robbed at gunpoint

Posted: Published on July 10th, 2012

Two armed men robbed a northeast Indiana pharmacy before dawn Monday, forcing two employees onto the floor and the other to open the safe before grabbing medications. The Warsaw Police Department is investigating the robbery that happened at the CVS Pharmacy, 100 N. Detroit St., about 4:10 a.m. In a written statement, the department said the men were 20-30 years old and white. One was wearing a full-face red plastic Spider-Man mask with red tightening straps and surgical gloves. The other was wearing a tan safari-type hat or possible straw hat, a blue bandanna covering his face, sunglasses and surgical-type gloves. The employees watched the robbers head to the front door, but they could not get out, so they left out a side emergency exit. Warsaw police brought in a police dog to track the robbers north along the train tracks, but the trail ended near the parking lot south of the Salvation Army on Arthur Street, the statement said. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Warsaw Police Investigations Division at 574-372-9535 or call Crime Stoppers at 800-342-7867. NBC 5 Burglars have hit White Rock Pharmacy three times in four months this time breaking in through the ceiling and stealing pain medications. The owner of White Rock Pharmacy in Dallas patched up his roof and cleaned up the mess left behind after an early morning burglary on Monday. The burglary was caught on surveillance cameras. In the video, one man can be seen lowering himself down through the hole. Another person who can't be seen on tape hands him a bag. In less than five minutes, the burglar goes through the pharmacy, taking mainly painkillers, including hydrocodone. The burglar is seen trying to climb out of the hole, first using a stool and later using a fax machine stand to climb out and run off before police get to the pharmacy. Thomas Adimula, who has owned the pharmacy for about six months, said he already had a break-in in April and an attempted break-in in May. Adimula stopped carrying high-strength painkillers in order to deter burglars from breaking in and even reinforced both entrances. The ceiling was an unexpected route, he said. U-Save Pharmacy suffers setback in Classic

Posted: Published on July 9th, 2012

The U-Save Pharmacy Classic ended on a sour note for the host team Sunday at Ryder Park. Lincoln (East) Whitehead Oil scored four runs in the top of the third inning after its first two batters were retired. And it went downhill from there for U-Save Pharmacy in an 11-3 setback. The thing about it is as pleased as Ive been with the progress over the last couple of weeks, we took a couple huge steps backwards tonight, U-Save Pharmacy coach Joe Wells said. Concentration, mental focus all those things werent there. Whitehead Oils first two batters grounded out to second base in the top of the third inning of a scoreless game. But the next seven all reached safely on five hits, a walk and an error. Matt Crouch hit a two-run single and Creighton Wilke and Kyle Warkow added RBI singles. We had a number of chances to get out of that inning, Wells said. We had a chance to get out of it without a run scoring, then we had a chance to get out of it with just two runs scoring. We didnt execute like weve talked about all year long. If you walk people and … Continue reading
