Michael Schwartz for New York Daily News Pharmacist Manny Ramirez, owner of Dichter Pharmacy, a longtime Inwood institution that is getting a new home in the neighborhood after being destroyed by fire in January, 2012. A longtime Inwood pharmacy that was destroyed by fire more than a year ago is getting a new home just a few doors down from its former location, and the owner says it will be bigger and better with an added old-school twist. Dichter Pharmacy, which has served residents of upper Manhattan for more than 70 years, will start anew at 4935 Broadway near W. 207th St., owner Manny Ramirez said. Im very excited, were going back home, Ramirez told the Daily News on Thursday. Its going to be a bigger and better location. The new store is about 25 feet away from the pharmacys original location at 4943 Broadway, he said. Since the January 2012 fire which officials say started inside a neighboring Chinese restaurant and destroyed nine businesses the mom-and-pop pharmacy has been operating out of a tiny 300-square-foot space at 4975 Broadway. HIV Patients Say New Insurance Program'Will Kill People' HIV patients are speaking out against Blue Cross of California over a change in coverage that allegedly bars them from using local pharmacies to get their medications. "It's ridiculous, I think it's the worst thing they could do to a person living with HIV," said HIV patient Jay Conner. Starting in March, HIV and AIDS patients under the program will be receiving their medications via mail and not through their local pharmacy. Andre Iguodala 24 Points Full Highlights (2/1/2013) The Denver Nuggets are located in the "Mile High City", and they're called the "Nuggets". Is it a coincidence that marijuana is now legal in the state of Colorado? Yes. "Nuggets" refers to Colorado's gold-mining past, not the nuggets of primo sticky icky which are available in every pharmacy and grocery store. "Mile High" refers to the actual altitude of Denver, not the stoned condition of many of its residents.
