Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells Market To Register High Revenue Growthat 7% CAGR Throughout 2018 to 2026 – Kentucky Reports
Posted: Published on December 4th, 2019
The healthcare industry has been focusing on excessive research and development in the last couple of decades to ensure that the need to address issues related to the availability of drugs and treatments for certain chronic diseases is effectively met. Healthcare researchers and scientists at the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of the Hong Kong University have successfully demonstrated the utilization of human induced pluripotent stem cells or hiPSCs from the skin cells of the patient for testing therapeutic drugs. The success of this research suggests that scientists have crossed one more hurdle towards using stem cells in precision medicine for the treatment of patients suffering from sporadic hereditary diseases. Herpes Virus Linked to Multiple Sclerosis – PrecisionVaccinations
Posted: Published on December 4th, 2019
Researchers at Karolinska Institutet have developed a new method to separate different types of a common herpes virus (HHV-6) that has been linked to multiple sclerosis (MS). By analyzing antibodies in the blood against the most divergent proteins of herpesvirus 6A and 6B, these researchers were able to show that MS-patients carry the herpesvirus 6A to a greater extent than healthy individuals. This is relevant news since as many as 80 percent of all children are infected with the HHV-6 virus before 2 years of age Continue reading
