Chelsea Peretti might be One of the Greats of comedy

Chelsea Peretti fans love the chemistry of the ensemble cast of Foxs Golden Globe-winning comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which features comedy heavy hitters Terry Crews and Andy Samberg. That chemistry might be because its not the first time shes teamed with Samberg: They went to elementary school together in Oakland, Calif.

I used to have a crush on him, admits Peretti, who is currently dating another comedian: Jordan Peele of Comedy Centrals Key & Peele.

I would call [Sambergs] house and hang up and stuff, she recalls. He probably wasnt a participant in that experience.

In addition to stealing scenes on Brooklyn Nine-Nine as civilian administrator Gina Linetti, a recently ousted member of a cringe-worthy dance troupe called Floorgasm, Perettis got a new Netflix comedy special coming out Friday. Its called One of the Greats, but dont worry shes not letting sitcom fame get to her head.

Its very serious, Peretti, 36, tells The Post of the title, with her usual deadpan drawl. With 10 verys, so it looks sarcastic, even in print.

The title is a riff on the over-the-top bravado male comedians tend to bring to the stage for their comedy specials. But all jokes aside, Peretti might well be on her way to greatness: Her face appeared next to Bill Cosbys in some ads for this round of Netflix comedy specials. And the show itself puts a different spin on the stand-up format, with non sequitur interjections like one in which she hallucinates that shes being heckled by a version of herself dressed as a clown breaking up the usual stage work.

Shes also a hit on Twitter, where she entertains some 354,000 fans who follow her for gems like Weddings r cool bc u can cry in public about other stuff as long as u look in the general direction of the bride + groom.

Internet popularity runs in the family. Her older brother, Jonah, founded Buzzfeed. While the two are fairly close, she says she doesnt spend a lot of time on the site, which is known for its time-wasting online quizzes.
