The successful candidate will engage and promote the interests of the 21st century learner by teaching Chemistry to students in an American High School diploma program. The duties of the Chemistry teacher include creating a pacing guide and lesson plans that aligns with Common Core Standards, provide opportunities for authentic assessment both formative and summative, prepare and deliver engaging classroom discussions, creating and supervising laboratory activities for students, evaluating student performance, maintaining classroom records, meeting with parents, and participation in the rich professional development program offered by Modern English School Cairo.

Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of research findings and recent trends in the education of students in grades 9-12 in Science. The candidate should possess the ability to develop and build a collaborative relationship fostering sharing of ideas, pedagogy and implementation of best practices within the science department. The ability to engage the learner in the study of Science and to provide practical hands-on learning experiences to promote an enthusiasm for the Sciences.
