Could you be harmed by a dangerous drug or medical device?
Could your medication be harming you? New drugs are approved by the FDA before they go to market, to ensure there are no harmful side effects. However, this process does not always work, and people can suffer injury and even death. This week on the Beasley Allen Report, host Gibson Vance welcomes Beasley Allen attorney Danielle Mason, who works on cases involving potentially dangerous drugs and defective medical devices. Danielle says patients today must be proactive to safeguard their health. "You really have to be a lot more diligent about what you #39;re putting into your body," she says. "That means having a conversation with that doctor in the office when that prescription is handed to you. You need to have a conversation about what are the risks and the benefits of taking that medication." Danielle has been with Beasley Allen for about three years. She is currently handling cases involving the drug Reglan, prescribed for acid reflux or diabetic gastroparesis but which may ! cause involuntary muscle movements; Hormone Replacement Therapy, which was used to treat the symptoms of menopause but has since been linked to breast cancer; and Kugel mesh, which is used to repair hernias but may deteriorate or migrate in the body and cause severe pain.From:beasleyallenViews:63 1ratingsTime:28:34More inNews Politics
