DNA testing has not cleared up who may be the killer in a case that has led to a new trial for a man convicted of two murders.

Prosecutors hoped the genetic testing would provide some answers in the case that has led to a new trial for Charles "Teddy" Pierre, who has been imprisoned for the 2002 murders of Clara Sconiers and Thomas Reed. Another man, Darrell Boyd, has told three people that he committed the killings, according to the Monroe County District Attorney's Office.

In July, County Court Judge Douglas Randall ordered a new trial for Pierre because of the new evidence.

One of those Boyd allegedly told about the killings was his ex-wife, Kathleen Boyd. She had a piece of jewelry that she said Boyd once told her he'd taken from Sconiers.
