For LGU officials, Sicat hopefully said they were able to be gain a lot of information about biotechnology which will help them realize and find the necessity to create policies that are GMO friendly.

"If they would be able to appreciate the beauty of GMO, of course naoopen ang minds nila and they will allow yung adoption or at least support biotechnology," said the regional director.

The forum discussed the current applications or products of modern biotechnology; the difference between the traditional and biotechnology; technological and social issues or concerns about the practice of biotechnology; and rules and regulations which serves as standards of modern biotechnologies' safety.
