SpaceX launched its Starlink satellite internet service in Indonesia on Sunday.

The serviceis expectedto bring connectivity to some of the more distant parts of the country,Reuters reports. Indonesia is home to more than 270 millionpeoplewho livein three different time zones across the country.

Starlink went liveat three health centers in Indonesia onSunday;two of thosecenters are in Baliandthe third is on the remote island of Arc in Maluku.

At a launch event for the service, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said he wasexcited to bring connectivity to places that have low connectivity.He also said internet connectivity, in general, can be a potential lifesaver.

Indonesia is the third Southeast Asian country to get Starlink after Malaysia and the Philippines.Starlink is also currentlybeing usedin Ukraine,where it ishelping keep the militaryas well ashospitals, businesses, and aid organizations online.

SpaceX owns roughly 60% of all active satellites in orbit, according to space technology firm Slingshot Aerospace. It has 2.7 million users globally.
