AstraZenecas COVID-19 vaccine reduced transmission of the virus and appeared to offer protection with one dose, a new study found. The results may support the U.K.s plan to delay second shots. (AP)

Jazz Pharmaceuticals announced it will buy GW Pharma for $7.2 billion. GW manufactures Epidiolex, a cannabinoid treatment for seizures caused by Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. (Endpoints News)

Novavax is currently recruiting volunteers for its COVID-19 vaccine trial, potentially putting it on track to see emergency use authorization by April. If the trial is successful, there could be an additional 110 million vaccine doses by the summer. (The New York Times)

While global COVID-19 cases are declining, the World Health Organization said unequal access to vaccines still poses an obstacle to economic recovery. Not surprisingly, low-income countries dont have the same access to the vaccines as wealthier nations. (CNBC Weekly)

Researchers at Apple have designed an Apple Watch function that can identify symptoms of Parkinsons disease. The function could allow people living with Parkinsons to monitor symptoms without having to rely on inconsistent clinical visits or self-reporting. (STAT)
