Alex (Justin Chambers) and Callie (Sara Ramirez) have agreed to return for the next two seasons of 'Grey's Anatomy'. AFP pic, May 6, 2014.The actors who played the surgeons Miranda Bailey, Alex Karev, Callie Torres and Richard Webber on ABC's medical drama have agreed to return for the potential 11th and 12th seasons, the Hollywood Reporter indicates.

Present from the very first episode of "Grey's Anatomy," which first aired on March 27, 2005, Justin Chambers (Alex Karev), Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey) and James Pickens Jr. (Richard Webber) are gearing up for two additional seasons at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital in Seattle. These original cast members will be joined by Sara Ramirez, whose character Callie Torres was introduced during season two.

The four actors will appear in forthcoming episodes of the hospital drama alongside the protagonists Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), whose participation was confirmed in January.

These returns should help to make up for the three departures taking place at the end of the tenth season, which is currently airing on ABC. The thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon Cristina Yang, played by Sandra Oh, will bow out after the season finale on Thursday, May 15. The episode will also be the last featuring the interns Shane (Gaius Charles) and Leah (Tessa Ferrer).

For the time being, ABC has yet to officially renew "Grey's Anatomy" for its 11th season, although the news that the six main actors will return leaves little room for doubt. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the network will make an official announcement on the subject any day now. AFP/Relaxnews, May 6, 2014.
