At the start of this week'sGrey's Anatomy,Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) is in full needy mode, interrupting Alex (Justin Chambers) in the shower to tell him about her latest half-sister - and complimenting his junk in the process. (This scene proves that I could never be Meredith's roommate, let alone her person.) While hiding from the shower buddies, a jealous Jo (Camilla Luddington) tells Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) that she's missing Cristina. Who agrees with her?

[A quick Cristina tangent: I really applaud the way the show is handling Cristina's exit with random shout-outs and references. Nothing worse than a show that writes out a character, and their friends and loved ones adopt a policy of never speaking of them again.]

Elsewhere, as Derek (Patrick Dempsey)and Amelia's (Caterina Scorsone) sibling rivalry infiltrates the workplace, they're not the only ones who are screaming at each other in the hallway. Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) are stressed to the max dealing with new patients from the military, including one soldier who is hoping to get a "robot leg" from Callie. She wants to reject him because he isn't a good candidate for a robotic leg, but Owen is reverting to his military loyalties and ordering Callie to keep him as a candidate, resulting in a screaming match between the two of them in the hallway.

12 other things Shonda Rhimes taught us to get away with (besides murder)

Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) is enthralled by Dr.Geena Davisand wants to be friends (or more?? I can't really tell), but Geena is only interested in a professional relationship with Arizona as her fellow. I'm very interested/skeptical to see where this relationship is going, andprayingthis isn't going to be another budding infidelity for Arizona. Callie asks Arizona if her Geena Davis obligations are going to trump their scheduled appointment with a surrogate. Of course not!, insists Arizona. (Obviously Arizona is going to miss this appointment.)

Back at the house, Alex and Meredith bond over a tequila brunch while questioning Maggie's (Kelly McCreary) motivations in contacting Meredith, and helping Alex prep for his board interview. Meredith also hashes out her problems with Derek "He's walking around like a martyr," she slurs. Is he really, though? Yes, as a later conversation proves.

Alex convinces Meredith to hack into the hospital's records amid feeble protests. ("Cristina and I would just be dancing by now," she whines. I'm still rooting for an Alex/Meredith dance party by season's end.) "Are you ever ready for this stuff?" Alex wonders and it's an apt question, seeing as how, for those keeping track at home, this is thethirdhalf-sister that has come into Meredith Grey's life unannounced.)

Anyway, the records prove Maggie right, and this is Meredith's "FML" face:
