On tonights Greys Anatomy season 11, episode 14 Arizona and Amelia stare down two career defining cases. See how the surgeons fair in our full recap!

Cases of the Week: Dr. Herman goes under the knife as Amelia attempts to remove her tumor. Arizona takes on Baileys case and her first solo neonatal surgery.

Inspiring confidence in the OR can come in many forms. For Derek Shepherd it was a ferry cap. For Amelia it is a superhero pose. The history of great surgeons are packed with quirks that all lead the greats to their successes. What does not exist in the well-known stories are all the lost cases that lead to their breakthroughs. With the gallery packed, Owen tries to give Amelia one final pep talk, but what she needs is a minute alone to convince herself there is no running once the first cut is made.

Bailey, on the other hand, needs some help in the inspiring confidence department. As Arizona walks through the steps of the surgery as she scrubs in, Bailey pesters her with question after question regarding Hermans whereabouts. With Herman on the table down the hall, Bailey needs to deal with the cards she is given, but she cannot seem to wrap her head around the circumstances.

Amelia lights up Hermans tumor and is literally inside her head, while Herman is spending her phantom days lurking inside Arizonas down the hall. As Arizona begins to make bold calls in the OR, Baileys lack of confidence in Robbins mixes with Hermans voice echoing the same. Bailey begins to ignore Robbins and demands nurses to call Karev in for delivery of the baby, but Robbins desire to prove herself to Herman pushes her to finally tell Bailey to stop. Robbins may not be Herman, but she has every bit of knowledge that a fellow of a full year would have acquired. She has made her call not to deliver and if something goes wrong with that decision it will not be because of Robbins, it will be because of Baileys yelling. Bailey can either get on board or get out. You go, Robbins.

The delicate dance in Hermans brain that Shepherd is trying to perform is starting to feel awkward without someone leading her. Webber comes down into the OR, not to lead, or find her a partner, but prove that her dance looks just fine without her brother getting on a plane to save the day. After all, if Derek were to take her hand, he would get to step in and look like a fool because he doesnt know the choreography.

Amelia jumps back in the saddle, picking a path and heading blind into the forest.
