International travel expo to be held next year

The India International Travel Exhibition (IITE) proposes to organise a roadshow-cum-exhibition one of India's leading B2C and B2B travel and tourism exhibition in Vijayawada.

Apart from the city, the exhibition will be organised for three days each in Indore, Aurangabad, Raipur, and Nagpur. The event is an annual affair in the five tier II cities.

The exhibition will be organised in Aurangabad from August 10, Indore from October 5, Nagpur from January 25, 2013, and in Vijayawada from March 1 next year.

It will then be held at Raipur in Chhattisgarh from March 15, according to a statement here on Tuesday.

Vijayawada is known for automobile body-building, garment, iron, and hardware small-scale industries, the statement said.

Jawahar Autonagar was the largest automobile township in Asia for some time. About Rs.10 crore garment business takes place in Vastralatha building alone in the One Town on a daily basis. The city has many wholesale businesses.

Commercial hub

Vijayawada is called the Commerce hub' of Andhra Pradesh, for it provides the right environment for all agricultural and industrial goods to be transported in/out and traded in one single place.
