KUCHING: The Acupuncture and Moxibustion Association of Sarawak will host a Jins three needle for children with cerebral palsy and autism seminar at Grand Supreme Hotel in Ban Hock Road here from 9am to 1pm this Sunday

A publicity release yesterday highlighted that the Kuala Lumpur Cerebral Palsy Association founder Prof Dr Wong CC, who is also the founder of the Malaysian Anti-Cancer Association will facilitate the seminar.

Dr Wong, also a famous Guangzhou Jins three-needle therapy expert learnt his skill directly from Professor Jin Rui, Professor Zhuang Li Xing and Professor Chai Tie-qu.

Jins three needle therapy, well known as the Southern acupuncture treatment, is recognised by the Ministry of Health in China.

The therapy, based on 40 years clinical research and experimental studies, has affirmed the efficacy of the method to treat various diseases with great achievements.

It is especially used for the prevention and treatment for diseases such as stroke, cerebral palsy, autism and Alzheimer.

Realising the importance of early intervention in patients with cerebral palsy, experts in this field believed that regular acupuncture treatment using Jin three-needle for children below the aged of six years old could promote the development of the brain through stimulation and thereby improving childrens intelligence, movement and social adaptive behaviour.

In addition, acupuncture can also promote the development of the auditory and visual system in children that could enhance their memory system and strengthen their ability in speaking and eye-hand coordination.

This makes it possible to improve the intellectual and social adaptation ability of patients to some extent.

Dr Wong offers the Jins three needle treatment every first to fourth day of the month at the association office at No.3-4, Abell Road (opposite of Long House Hotel) here.
