Being able to buy fashionable clothes or climb a set of stairs without being out of breath - there are many reasons for losing weight.

But Jessica Madine has one of the best - to have a baby!

I lost five stones to give me a better chance at IVF, says Jessica, from Rainhill.

Having a baby is a dream for me and my partner Duane, so I wanted to help make sure any treatment is successful.

Besides which, the people helping me are doing everything they can to help me so it seems only fair I do my bit too.

Jessica Madine from Rainhill was nominated for Everyday Hero Award by her partner Duane Miller. Jessica lost 5st so she could start IVF treatment.

Jessicas partner Duane is so proud of how well she has done, he nominated her for an ECHO Everyday Hero Award.

Jessica was told she needed to lose weight to be considered for IVF and has maintained her weight loss. Its not easy losing weight - so in my eyes, she IS a hero.

The couple, both 22, have known one another for some time but starting going out together at 18. They are engaged - saving to be married - and both keen to start a family.

It was a couple of years ago we discovered that were we unlikely to be able to conceive naturally and, while they normally offer IVF at 23, they said they would offer it to us now, says Jessica who, like Duane, is a support worker.
